Scandi Vibe Locations
1. Greenwood
Location: London, E8
This beautiful four storey Victorian townhouse is accessed via stone steps to the attractive hardwood door. The entrance hall opens to the formal sitting and dining rooms; Parquet floors and original Victorian marble fireplaces are set off against the plain white walls and minimal furnishings. The dining end is flooded with natural light and overlooks the breakfast area below with views out to the garden.
To create a light and airy feel, the basement level of the home was dug down by 1 metre and the rear of the first floor was removed to create a void at the back of the house which spans a whopping 7metres in height above the breakfast table. This has created a wonderfully light open space a the back of the house.
The contemporary kitchen is complemented by the beautiful Caprino Bianco marble used for the countertops and the island. A small set of steps lead to the snug area which is set around the fireplace.
The concrete staircase was shuttered and set in place which has created a beautifully architectural centrepiece to the home. The Corten steel cladding to the rear extension is another interesting feature to note, and can be enjoyed from the sunken concrete courtyard area at the back of the house.
On the first floor is the master bedroom suite. A continuation of calm embodies the entire home, and this doesn’t change here; the ensuite bathroom is elegant, spacious and benefits a large walk in shower, contemporary freestanding bath, and marble vanity unit.
2. Fern Villa
Location: London, E5
Fern Villa is an attractive Victorian terraced townhouse that is filled with calming scandi features. The entrance opens directly into the sitting room areas that have two open brick fireplaces, bleached wood floors, bare plaster walls, bay window to the front and a sash window to the rear.
On the basement level is a large open plan living and dining kitchen with separate utility and cloakroom with access to the rear terrace and garden. The kitchen has a large island unit with marble work tops with two hanging wicker shade ceiling lights and accents of natural wood running throughout. The floor is polished concrete while the ceiling has white painted beams.
On the upper floors are three bedrooms and the house bathroom. The master bedroom runs the width of the first floor and has a white painted brick chimney wall.
3. Mill Cottage
Location: Henley 0n Thames, RG9
An amazing semi-detached cottage built in 1852 which had a complete renovation just a few years ago has been opened up to provide a bright and contemporary living spaces with a Scandi-vibe throughout the home.
The kitchen is a particularly attractive room. Flooded with natural light, it opens out with bi-folding doors to the gravel courtyard and outdoor living area. The garden offers many beautiful options to photograph outdoor furniture and lifestyle products.
The floors throughout the living spaces are natural stone and oak. The bedrooms are carpeted.
4. Beach House
Location: Shoreham by Sea, BN43
A fantastic two storey property built in 2016. The property has cedar cladding with balconies looking over the beach. The property also has direct access onto the beach from the rear garden.
The multiple open plan living spaces, kitchen and bedroom areas all have plaster walls along with a mixture of concrete, parquet and oak floors running throughout. The mixture of neutral colours and textural materials have created an incredibly warm and scandi-led space to shoot in.
5. Chesterton
Location: London, W10
A very attractive Victorian townhouse that has been created by the owners own individual interior style.
The property boasts an all white minimal design throughout. The main entrance opens into a large through sitting room with two open fireplaces, original features and white painted wooden floors. There are also two further living areas which one of them has a white wood panelled wall, a galley kitchen and pantry within the basement level.
On the upper floors, there is a large master bedroom that spans the width of the property with two large sash windows, an open dressing room area and a bathroom with a free standing bath.
