Stepney Townhouse is a historic, characterful house in vibrant East London and is part of the Spitalfields Historic Buildings Trust.
Built in 1717, it’s a remarkable London Townhouse from the early Georgian period. At risk of demolition in the 1990s, it was rescued and restored by the Spitalfields Trust, with support from English Heritage.
The house has four generous floors and a studio loft, spanning 2,400 square feet in total. It has a flexible layout, high ceilings, tall windows, original panelling and period details throughout. The front of the house is south-facing, and has views to mature trees along the street. The rear of the house also enjoys views to trees and the courtyard garden.
In 2022, it underwent a phase of restoration and renovation, working with a carefully selected range of specialist brands and craftspeople, and is home to an ever-evolving collection of art, antiques, ceramics, collectable furniture and homewares.
