Faded Grandeur Locations

The Monastery

Location: Rye, TN31

Situated just 2 hours from central London in Rye, The Monastery is an incredible treasure trove of antiques, and an ever changing eclectic mix of props and art collected from all over the world.

Entered through large corten steel gates and into a private gravel courtyard the 14th century chapel has an imposing stone exterior. The building itself is arranged across two main floors, with two additional mezzanine levels and ancillary rooms. The ground floor level comprises an entrance vestibule and dining room, painted in a Moroccan inspired deep pink with exposed beams and parquet floor.

A set of stable doors open to the main room which has a very tall ceiling and industrial elements such as the exposed ironwork and concrete floors. The windows are placed high on this level giving lots of wall space and showering the room with light from above. There is a wall of contemporary panelling which offers a contrasting backdrop from the old lime plaster walls.

Dunford House

Location: West Sussex, GU29

This beguiling Victorian country location house has something for everyone, from fairground fairy tale to beautifully faded French chateau. This historic property nestled in the heart of the South Downs has been designed specifically for photographic stills and film and has amazing props and original features throughout. The as yet un-renovated parts of the house are also accessible and provide a wonderful blank canvas.

Location: London, W6

Bygone House and Chapel is an extraordinary Grade II listed Georgian property. This location house in London has many different rooms, and is a fine example of romantic, faded grandeur interiors.

There are a number of reception rooms, each with wood floors, original period features and fabulous high ceilings and tall windows. There are many pieces of antique furniture and contemporary artworks, which help to make this property a very rich, layered backdrop for fashion shoots.

The Averard Hotel

Location: London, W2

Built in 1925, the palatial Grade II listed commercial location property was originally two homes before being turned into a luxurious hotel, and later falling into disrepair.

The property is made up of two adjoining white stucco fronted 7 storey buildings, stretching to 25,000sq ft and boasting floor to ceiling arched windows, intricate plasterwork, and impressive staircases.

House Next Door

Location: London, N16

The House Next Door is a wonderful five floored former building merchants situated on the corner of London’s Jewish Quarter. Wonderful textures and wallpapers adorn the walls which are complimented by a mixture of parquet and original oak floorboards.

The House is served by large sash windows which provide great natural daylight and a number of differently themed rooms with varying colour schemes. This London location house has been hugely popular within the fashion industry but is equally effective as a filming location.
